Sandy Cumming, PE

Sandy joined the Linchpin team in 2017 and has become an indispensable member of the design team. He is proficient in structural design in all standard materials and has designed hundreds of structures from single-family residential remodels to commercial facility overhauls and new education facilities. In addition, he has pursued extensive experience and education in the specialty areas of existing building evaluation and retrofit, as well as post-tensioned concrete construction. He is also an expert in the intricacies of snow loading, as a sitting member of the ASCE snow load committee. Sandy is highly proficient in the structural modeling of complex systems using RISA and Etabs analysis softwares, and is skilled at 3D Building Information Modeling using Revit Structure.

Notable projects include the retrofit and upgrade of the new Reno Public Services facility, the new Incline High School, and the 947 Tahoe condominium tower.

When he’s not in the office, Sandy can be found engaging in any and all of the typical outdoor pursuits in Truckee; snowboarding in winter, biking in summer, and everything else under the sun.
